The Children's Museum of Tacoma believes that the opportunity to enjoy power of play should be available to the entire community. Through the support of generous sponsors, our Open Doors programs ensure that playful opportunities are available to all.

Free First Fridays


First Friday of every month 10:00am - 7:00pm

Children, their families, grandparents and caregivers are invited to come play at the Children's Museum of Tacoma free of admission.

No groups please.

Play Pass

The Play Pass allows four people of any age to explore the Children's Museum of Tacoma for FREE. Passes are available at Pierce County and Tacoma Libraries to check out with a valid library card. Military personnel and families can access the Play Pass at Ft. Lewis Book Patch Children's Library and the Crittenberger Library with a Ft. Lewis or McChord AFB ID/Library card.

Free Market Playdays


Thanks to generous support from Columbia Bank, the Museum will offer free admission to all visitors each Thursday for the months of June, July, and August! If visiting on a Market Playday, keep in mind that Broadway will be closed for the Farmer's Market.

Blue Star Initiative

As partners in the National Endowment for the Arts' Blue Star Museums Initiative, the Children's Museum of Tacoma offers free admission to active duty military and their families from Memorial Day to Labor Day in 2010.

Military ID required.
