The Children's Museum of Tacoma's Power of Play Luncheon raises awareness of early learning issues as it simultaneously raises critical operating dollars for the Museum. This year's guest speaker, Dr. David Elkind, is a renowned child psychologist, professor at Tufts University and author of several books including The Power of Play: Rearing Healthy Children in a Stressful World. Dr. Elkind has devoted his career to understanding the changing American family and focuses his research in the areas of perceptual, cognitive and social development.
Come hear his insights on the importance of play for children and families, and support the Children's Museum of Tacoma!
All donations made at the Power of Play Lunch directly support these activities thanks to presenting sponsor Columbia Bank; supporting sponsors the Titus Will Family Foundation, Titus Will Ford Toyota Scion, Tacoma Public Utilities, Tyee Marina, Pediatrics Northwest, Charles Wright Academy; and media sponsor ParentMap. This year's Power of Play Lunch is co-chaired by Museum members Heather Anderson and Cassandra Will.
